This is a small bowl I purchased at an antique market. The stylized pine and bamboo design in the center is lovely. It's interesting that there are no plum blossoms in the center design, but perhaps they were omitted because they are depicted on the body of the bowl. It seems like a thoughtful design. The body is composed of large and small blue window panels. The large windows feature a rock in the foreground on the right, with delicate plum blossoms and powerful maple leaves extending from it. On the left are a stream and irises. The top is filled with clouds on both sides, giving a luxurious impression. The small blue windows are like peepholes, with large flowers depicted within. It seems to be a mix of camellias and karahana (Chinese flowers). The rim and foot are also carefully painted, indicating a serious piece. According to the shop owner, it's from around the late Edo period. It has been repaired. Otherwise, there are no noticeable chips or scratches. Other than that, there are kiln marks.
