It is a footed tray from the Meiji era, made with Wajima Togidashi Negoro lacquer and cloth-covered base. Something that appears to be shell powder is sprinkled on the surface of the lacquer. I am not an expert, so I cannot confirm if it is shell powder. There are lacquer scratches, cracks, and peeling around the top of the four sides and on the corners of the four sides, and the cloth grain is slightly visible. There are also lacquer scratches, cracks, and peeling on the bottom of the feet. There is a slight wobble in the feet on the four sides. There are scratches and dirt overall. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about minor imperfections as this is an old item.
