I don't have a dedicated box and there's no explanation, so I don't know the details. After looking into it, I think it might be a tsuma-ore zen (a type of folding tray) similar to Wajima-nuri lacquerware? There's a vertical scratch on one of them that's not very noticeable, but can be seen when light hits it. Please see the last photo. It may have occurred during production, and there appears to be some gold paint adhered to the back. Please understand the above before purchasing. Perfect for a New Year's celebration.
