This is a natsume (tea caddy) in the shape of an eggplant, crafted by Hideyuki Kawagishi, the son of Mitsumasa Kawagishi, a renowned master of Wajima dry-lacquer. There are no noticeable scratches or stains, and it is in beautiful condition. The accompanying box also shows slight yellowing and minor scuffs, but is in good condition. It has been stored in a dark room.
