Pure silk Length: approx. 340 cm Width: approx. 20.5 cm This is a Nishijin-ori obi for children, woven with gold *tatsumaki* (wavy patterns) and red and white chrysanthemums on a black background. The size is smaller than current obi for 7-year-olds, so it might have been an obi for 3-year-olds. The *tatsumaki* pattern also incorporates *takara-zukushi* (various treasures) within its lines, making it an elaborate obi. The same fabric is used for the lining as for the front, making it very luxurious. There are fold marks and some thread snag marks in places, but no noticeable scratches or stains. It seems usable by someone who understands antique items. It has a substantial and good weave, which is rare in modern obi, so we hope someone will appreciate it. *Shipping will be done by folding it compactly.
