The collar isn't pure white, but rather a creamy color. I dressed my two children in it when they were discharged from the hospital and for celebrations. It's a 2-way all-in-one, depending on how you fasten the buttons at the feet. I don't see any noticeable stains, but it was used by a baby and has only been home-cleaned, so please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned.
