This is a padded haori/hanten (Japanese coat) made by my mother in the Showa era (1926-1989) at a kimono shop. It has been carefully stored unworn. The fabric is primarily white, and it is in very clean condition with no discoloration, stains, or moth damage. It is all shibori (tie-dye), and the lining is either polyester or silk; I'm not sure. I don't know much about Japanese clothing, but the fabric is wonderfully beautiful. I think it would make a great gift for someone from abroad. I don't know what kind of padding is inside.
