These are trekking shorts. The buttons and belt are easy to put on and take off. They also have a lining, so they feel sturdy overall, but are soft, comfortable to wear, and easy to move in. The front pockets have gussets, so you can put things like a small towel in them. I've worn them nearly 10 times on day hikes.
