There are scratches from use, but I don't feel any deterioration yet, so I think they can still be used. I wear wool socks and dry the boots immediately with a boot dryer after use, so I don't think the inner lining smells. (This is just my personal opinion, so please understand.) They tighten securely with just the laces, and the top shoelace hook interfered and wasn't very useful, so I cut the power strap. I attached a piece of the belt only to the part that catches on the Velcro that holds the power strap, because I didn't like it. Please check photos 5 and 6.
