There are paint chips and small scratches as it was used to cheer on children's soccer games. It is made of metal. I wash and dry it after each use and store it. I haven't used it in a while, so I don't think there's rust inside, but the paint is chipped around the mouth and there is rust there. I will try to remove as much rust as possible before shipping. The two-tone sound is quite loud. I believe this two-tone model is no longer available new.
