Era: 1940s - 1950s Size: 24 Material: Metal Weight: Approximately 10g This is a US ARMY OFFICER dome signet ring, dating from the 1940s-50s (World War II - Korean War era), acquired from an antique dealer in San Diego, California, a city with the largest US Navy base. This military jewelry evokes a sense of history, reminiscent of what soldiers acquired at PXs (base stores) and souvenir shops in port cities at the time. It has an earthy, alluring quality like a well-worn antique, something you can't get with new accessories. It's a perfect match for rugged men's styles like military jackets, denim, and leather jackets. [About the Material] Based on the confirmation of some vintage-specific verdigris (green rust) and the lack of markings, we conducted a density test. The results revealed that the material is denser and heavier than common brass. Therefore, we estimate it to be "nickel silver" (German silver), an alloy primarily composed of copper. We were able to acquire a collection of stock items from a local dealer in San Diego, a US Navy base. We currently have multiple items with the same design but different sizes and aging variations. Each one is unique, with different degrees of gold plating discoloration and texture.
