This is a meticulously crafted sageo (sword cord) made by an iaido practitioner with 15 years of experience, using Sanada-himo (Sanada braid). This item utilizes Kaga Nishiki Sanada-himo, produced by the long-established Kanazawa workshop, Orimoto Sumiya. This braid boasts a silky smooth texture and exceptional durability against sweat, and each sageo is handcrafted. The length is 240 cm, the standard for Japanese swords and iaito (practice swords), and the width is 1.2 cm. Due to the high quality of the Sanada-himo, it can also be cut to your desired length and used as an obi-jime (sash cord) or for other handmade crafts. Some people even use it as a blood stopper for portable shrines. It can easily be threaded through most kurigata (sword scabbard knobs) without snagging.
