Handmade by artisans in Oku-Aizu. This is a cat "chigura" (also known as a cat "tsugura"). It's a large size. Purchased in Mishima-machi, famous for its artisan festival. The cat is not included; it is brand new. It is made of straw, and it appears that no other materials such as hemp twine are used. Due to the handmade nature of the product, there are protruding straw pieces and shape distortions as shown in the photos. Also, fine straw pieces may come out.
