This is an otaiko (drum) style obi. It consists of a front band that wraps around the waist and a pre-tied otaiko section for the back. Like a yukata obi, the part that wraps around the waist has strings attached. There are no metal fittings. You simply place the pre-tied section on your back, secure it with a temporary string, and then add the obiage (sash scarf) and obijime (sash cord) to complete the shape, ensuring the most attractive part of the pattern is displayed. This is a remake, incorporating a different fabric with the original obi. Please understand that the pattern is not the original design of the obi.
