The photos are of the actual item. This is a roasted maple neck for a Telecaster. It has a gloss finish (glossy paint). Because of the gloss finish, the balance of coolness, flashiness, and elegance is very cool. As you can see in the photos, the fret edges are rounded, so you won't catch on the frets, making it easy to play. This is not the type where the frets are rounded after being hammered in, but the type where round-edged frets are hammered in. I've looked at Fender, Fender Mexico, Mighty Mite, Chinese, etc., and this is a pretty good job. The flame is very cool. It shimmers depending on the angle and how the light hits it.
