The mortar-style walls were created using putty, intentionally shaped irregularly and weathered to give an antique, aged feel. The back is finished with walls made of putty as well. The windows, kitchen counter, and sink doors do not open. It is not as perfect as a commercially available dollhouse, but it was made after repeated revisions.
