YANAGISAWA A-4 ? (Mid-Production Era) Serial Number: 78500108 This is a Yanagisawa alto saxophone purchased by my family about 44 years ago. It seems to have cost around 250,000 yen at the time. It was used for a little under two years in a school band, and then only occasionally after that. I think it looks relatively clean. For the listing, I've asked a friend who has worked for many years in a wind instrument specialty store to do a full inspection, polish the body (polish the ligature and mouthpiece cap/remove pad mold), check the action, and do a simple cleaning of the hard case. 〈Action Check Results〉 ① Sticker: The High F# lever cork is missing. ② Sticker: The side F# key height adjustment cork is missing. ③ Sticker: The high F key pad has come off due to the shellac drying out. Based on the serial number, it was likely manufactured around 1975. The silver engraved alto saxophones are rare, as there were not many made. It seems to have a playing feel similar to the old CONN saxophones, rather than the more refined sound of current models. Regarding the mouthpieces, the original Yanagisawa M1-3 was not used much, and a Selmer 80C* was used instead. I was hesitant to discard them for hygiene reasons, but I will include both.
