After the war, he was drawn to the charm of unglazed clay bells and became a specialized producer of clay bells around 1960. In addition to clay bells related to Fukuoka, such as the local Hakata Obi clay bell and Niwaka mask clay bell, Mr. Hirohide created many clay bells depicting Ishikawa Takuboku's poetry monument, wayside Buddhist statues, and Dosojin (road guardian deities).
