◇ About the Makers ◇ We sell handmade shinobue flutes crafted by a father and daughter team in Shimane Prefecture, with the father having about 25 years of experience as a shinobue instructor and flute maker. We make shinobue and kagura flutes from female bamboo harvested from the Shizuma River and dried for over three years. ◇ Shipping Method ◇ We ship via Mercari's anonymous delivery service within 1-3 days in eco-friendly packaging. Please comment if you need it urgently. ◇ Description ◇ A 6-note shinobue is two semitones lower than an 8-note flute, resulting in a range closer to the human voice. Songs with a # at the beginning of the score can be smoothly played without using many semitones by transposing them to C major. ◇ Tuning ◇ Tuned to the Western musical scale of 440Hz, matching the pitch of the upper register with a tuner, allowing for ensemble playing and performance with other instruments. Tuned to allow for the sound of the lower register (1st octave), upper register (2nd octave), and higher register (3rd octave) to be produced by breath control. As these are natural bamboo flutes, each one has its own unique characteristics. Those accustomed to other flute makers' flutes may take some time to master the higher registers (3rd and 4th octaves) on these flutes.
