This is an archtop guitar made by Suzuki Violin Manufacturing in Nagoya. I purchased this masterpiece from Lightning in Kyoto a few years ago for approximately 70,000 yen, and I am reluctantly putting it up for sale. The following is quoted from Lightning's description: This pick guitar is believed to have been made in the mid-1960s. As the looks suggest, it has a very dry sound and produces a loud volume. It is a single-cutaway, which is rare for a Japanese pick guitar. Top: Spruce Sides & Back: Maple Neck: Mahogany Fingerboard: Rosewood Position Mark: Dot Pegs: 3-in-line type Bridge: Movable, carved from rosewood Pickguard: Missing The neck is thick, but it has the same specifications as a full-hollow body guitar with pickups, so it is easy to play fingerpicking with single notes in addition to chord work. Nut width: 43mm String height: 2.2mm on the 6th string side and 1.9mm on the 1st string side at the 12th fret. The appearance has minor scratches and dents commensurate with its age, and it has the full character of a vintage guitar after approximately 60 years. It is finished in a very clean condition for its age, and the condition is perfectly set up, including the neck and frets. The truss rod is slightly tightened.
