This is a HIPSHOT string bender (B-Bender) system. These have become difficult to obtain recently. The mechanism allows you to raise the pitch of the 2nd string by operating the bar with your waist, creating a pedal steel-like bend-up effect. It's convenient because you only need to drill two small holes (included) near the end pin, and you can attach and detach it without major modifications. It also has a drop-D function that instantly lowers the 6th string by one tone, but I removed it because I didn't use it (this device is also included, but you will need to reinstall it if you want to use it). I used it for about 3 years after purchasing it new. Also, three pages of English instructions are included. The last photo is a reference for installation (the bender mechanism is a different unit from the one for sale, and is on my Dr. K Hirofumi Tokutake model). Unfortunately, the bar is not included. It's a metal rod, and you will need to obtain the bar yourself. As of January 2026, the reference retail price for a new one is ¥55,550.
