MARIO VALENTINO Mario Valentino, the luxury brand known for its mark of the alphabet "M" and "V" stacked vertically, hasn't been in the media much lately. As a result, many young people may not know the brand, or may even perceive it as a has-been. It's a fashion brand founded in Milan, Italy in 1952 by Mario Valentino, a shoemaker. Originally producing shoes, the brand gained worldwide attention after presenting "coral shoes" at the Alta Moda collection in Rome in 1954. Subsequently, it expanded into a total fashion brand, offering women's and men's bags, apparel, watches, handkerchiefs, and more. It seems the brand changed its name to Valentino Bags in 2021 and continues to operate under that name. Over 30 years ago, through a unique Japanese method of technical collaboration, it became a licensed brand under Itochu Corporation, and was quite appreciated by us fashion enthusiasts who love Italian goods.
