Denchu Hirakushi, from Okayama Prefecture, is one of Japan's leading sculptors from the pre-war to post-war periods. His passion for creation never waned, even after he turned 100, and he remained active throughout his life, passing away at the age of 108 in 1979. There are some stains on the item.
