Purchased from a musical instrument store about three months ago. The fretboard has been maintained and the frets polished, so it should be ready to play comfortably once you put strings on it. The strings have been off for about two months, so I'm not sure about any crackling noises. It will be shipped in an Ibanez soft case and a cardboard box.
