The elastic cannot be replaced, but I use a durable one. It's attached with a thin lace thread or nylon thread of a similar color. ❣ When finishing the nylon thread, I melt it with a lighter, so there will be a small, hard melted spot ❣ I don't use a glue gun or adhesive, but I may use a small amount of adhesive to finish the thread ends.
