There are various types of carving knives, such as flat, cutting, corner, and round blades. Similarly, chisels also have different blade types like single-edged, hair-line, and half-round. However, scraping tools for metal engraving don't have this variety. Our workshop has independently developed and created these different blade types. This is a hybrid flat scraper, similar to a flat carving knife. It can also use the sides and is suitable for carving. Scrapers are versatile tools, and I think they are also good for removing solder in resin, railway models, and musical instrument repairs. Made from the highest quality domestic cemented carbide, there are no solder marks. Naturally, it is a purely domestic product. The overall dimensions are approximately 3mm wide, 2mm and 1.5mm thick, and about 12cm long (slightly shorter after sharpening). The blade width is 2-2.5mm, and there are options with or without a handle. The blade width indicated in the product name refers to the width of the tip. Like the basic scraper, the sides are also tapered and ground into a trapezoidal cross-section. Therefore, the tip width size is an approximate value. The thickness is not the blade edge. In addition to the flat scraper tip, the sides can also be used like a basic scraper. The blade edge, bottom surface, and sides are all mirror-finished. Also, by adding a nanako handle, it was possible to engrave on copper plates. (Since the lower blade does not curve like our Western-style engraving chisels, it may chip easily when engraving hard metals.) Of course, re-sharpening is possible. When re-sharpening, adjustments to the blade angle, etc., are also possible. We primarily manufacture these for use in polishing precious metals, but if you are using them on resin, you may not need a handle.
