Additional notes: After listing this item, I found some old tapes and confirmed that the motor runs when batteries are inserted (images 12-13). However, this was not checked by putting it in a deck, so please understand. It hasn't been used for several decades, and I no longer own a playback device, so I can't check its operation. However, I would appreciate it if those who are still interested would consider purchasing it. The exterior appears to be in good condition for its age, and there is no rust on the moving parts or battery leakage as far as I can see.
