It is an armored fighting vehicle specialized primarily for destroying enemy tanks. Unlike regular tanks, it does not have a rotating turret; instead, it has a box-like structure (casemate design) with a large cannon (anti-tank gun) mounted directly on the hull, characterized by its low silhouette, powerful frontal armor, and formidable main gun. Design and development, with the cooperation of Krupp and Daimler-Benz, initial technical specifications were formulated based on the hull and mock-up of the V-series Panther tank, and it was adopted by the German army. This new tank destroyer was characterized by its powerful armament capable of destroying all enemy vehicles from 1944 to 1945, and its excellent frontal armor shape. However, the complexity of the manufacturing process and high unit cost were drawbacks that hindered mass production. The Jagdpanther made its combat debut in the Normandy campaign in the summer of 1944, subsequently fighting against the Western Allies in France, and participating in the Ardennes Offensive from 1944 to 1945. It appeared on the Eastern Front in the autumn of 1944 and achieved victories against both T-34 and IS-2 heavy tanks.
