This is an original, early 70s D&S. Some reviews compare it to a Big Muff, but the tone control is completely different. This one is characterized by a creamy, fuzzy sound with a focus on the mids. It has a unique sense of sound pressure, and I think it should be considered a fuzz rather than a distortion. I've compared it to the later models, and the early model has a thicker low-mid range and a more pronounced feel.
