This is a small dish (mukouzuke) from the Yoshidaya kiln of Kutani ware. The color scheme, which doesn't use red, features blue, green, yellow, and purple. The octopus arabesque design is also wonderful, and combined with the excellent shape of the vessel, it's a flawless piece. There is one kiln flaw where the glaze has boiled, and one chip (soge) from a kiln flaw. Both appear to be from the firing process, caused by the glaze.
