This is a Shinobue flute, "Chikusui" model, made by the second-generation flute maker, Chuichi Ito, of the Ito Chikukan Gakki Seisakusho, who inherited the Edo period Shishida school. It was made in the late Showa era, approximately fifty years ago. The bamboo is well-dried, and the sound quality and tone are excellent, with a beautiful, subdued color. It's a fine instrument.
