A set of 10 short scrolls, useful for tea ceremony practice, tea gatherings, and seasonal decorations. These were calligraphed by me previously. We have gathered popular phrases filled with Zen teachings, starting with the classics "Nichinichi Kore Kōjitsu" (Every day is a good day) and "Wakei Seijaku" (Harmony, Respect, Purity, Tranquility). They can be widely used from practice for beginners to serving as a substitute for monthly hanging scrolls. [Set Contents and Meanings (Explanations)] 〇 Shūzan Geppū Kiyoshi (秋山月風清) The moon shines on the autumn mountains, and a clear wind blows. A phrase expressing the tranquility and beauty of autumn. 〇 Nichinichi Kore Kōjitsu (日々是好日) Every day is an irreplaceable good day. It teaches the preciousness of accepting things as they are. 〇 Gyokuto Sen'nen no Ju (玉兎千年寿) Like the rabbit living on the moon, may you have a long life. A phrase celebrating longevity and auspiciousness. 〇 Wakei Seijaku (和敬静寂) The fundamental spirit of the tea ceremony. It means a state of mind where one respects others and finds peace and tranquility. 〇 Mujinzō (無尽蔵) That which is inexhaustible. It represents Buddhist wisdom, virtue, and richness of the heart. 〇 Shujinkō (主人公) Not being swayed by external factors and not losing sight of one's true self. It refers to one's own essence. 〇 Sankasakinotori Katari (山花咲野鳥語) Mountain flowers bloom, and wild birds sing. It depicts the natural truth manifesting itself. 〇 Haru wa Senrin ni Hairi Shojo no Uguisu (春入千林処々鶯) When spring arrives, nightingales sing in every forest. It represents the breath and joy of spring that visits all equally. 〇 Kissa Ko (喫茶去) "Well, please have some tea." The importance of drinking tea with a clear mind, without overthinking. 〇 Kōjitsu (好日) A wonderful day. A peaceful state of Zen, cherishing each day.
