The exterior of the main unit has minor scratches due to aging, but there are no particularly noticeable scratches. The LCD screen is unscratched and shows beautiful images without degradation. This product has been tested for operation, including recording, playback, zoom, and external output to a TV, using a personal battery and MiniDV tape. *The tape drive motor sound is somewhat loud, so please use it mainly for playback, tape viewing, and dubbing. Image 15 shows the playback of an old MiniDV tape and output to a TV. Both the video and audio are clear, so dubbing is not a problem.
