This is a Showa-retro, lucky turtle charm with a gourd and a bell from Motozenko-ji Temple in Shinshu. It has been stored in a chest of drawers for many years. Motozenko-ji Temple is a Tendai Buddhist temple located in Zako-ji, Iida City, Nagano Prefecture. Before being named Motozenko-ji, it was called Zako-ji, and the name remains in the local place name, Zako-ji (same pronunciation). The principal image is the Zenko-ji Nyorai.
