This is a Daiwa fishing rod. It appears to be a type of rod used without a reel, with a line attached to the tip of the rod that is the same length as the rod itself. I don't fish, so I don't know much about fishing tackle. However, a fishing acquaintance inspected it and said there were no problems with its use. There is considerable damage due to aging.
