This hagoita was prepared with the intention of having a painting applied using the "tsuketate" hand-painting technique. Tsuketate is a Japanese expression technique where the painting is done directly with a brush without relying on an underdrawing. Although it was never ultimately painted, the beauty and thickness of the wood remain, giving it a unique presence that can only be found in this state.
