This is a mini planter made by wheel-throwing a cup the size of a sake cup and then shaping the rim into a square. The entire piece is covered in a mottled brown glaze, and finely crushed glass has been melted and pooled at the bottom. Therefore, there is no drainage hole, so it could be used as a sake cup, but the brown glaze is not on the rim, so the mouthfeel might not be very good.
