☆Substantial price reduction from the original listing. Please consider. ☆ Ugo Mulas (1928-1973) Born in Northern Italy in 1928, Mulas became one of the most important international photographers of the post-war era. He began with street photography and became famous for his portraits of artists. He died in 1973. As the official photographer of the Venice Biennale, starting in 1954, he continued to photograph the Biennale and documented the art scenes of Italy and New York. He captured in black and white photographs the surroundings of artists and their works, including Marcel Duchamp, Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, and Lucio Fontana, among many others. This work is from the New York art scene. It is a photograph of the artist's notes left on the wall of Roy Lichtenstein's studio. This work was exhibited at the Ugo Mulas exhibition at M Gallery in 1986 (catalog photo no. 9). (The catalog is also included. Please refer to it.) Since Mulas died in 1973, this is a rare original print developed in the studio overseen by Mulas's wife. There is a proof stamp on the back of the photograph (reference photo no. 3). Photo size: Approximately 29x40cm We hope you enjoy the powerful art scene that the original photograph possesses. We are also exhibiting a studio scene of Rauschenberg. We would be truly delighted if someone would collect this work as well, along with this one.
