The cups and saucers feature a Japanese-style floral and bird pattern in red and blue on a white background, with gold accents for a華やかな (gorgeous/splendid) look. The capacity is approximately 80ml (about 110ml when full), which is about half the size of a regular coffee cup, making it suitable for serving small portions of demitasse coffee or Chinese tea after a meal. The saucers are flat plates without a groove to secure the cup, and can also be used for small sweets or as side plates.
