Paulownia Wood Maki-e Flower Vase Showa Retro Vintage Antique This is a traditional craft from Ishikawa Prefecture, made by hollowing out paulownia wood and applying a焼き加工 (yaki-kakou -焼き加工 means "baked processing" or "fired processing"). Since it uses the paulownia wood as is, there are knots and holes, but please consider these as part of the charm of the craft rather than defects. The body is beautifully decorated with a maki-e design of vines and small birds. As it is made of paulownia wood, it is very light and easy to handle. This item has been stored at home for a long time. It has a good vintage charm. This is my personal opinion, so please only purchase if you are satisfied after checking the condition in the images.
