This is a dish called "Assiette sur pied" (footed plate) in France. It is a type with a slightly higher height, and can be used in the same way as a compotier. It is also stable as a cake plate, and can be stacked with other plates, making it easy to store. Personally, I find it easier to use than a compotier. There are black spots from the time of manufacture, and small chips in the glaze on the edges, but there are no cracks or chips, and it has a glossy appearance, and it is in a beautiful condition that does not feel much used.
