Two Yoshino-nuri lacquerware pieces, sometimes used in tea ceremony meals (chakaiseki). Typically, these are black with red lacquer, but these are a chic black-on-black. The smaller one is likely a rice bowl (meshi-wan), and the larger one is probably a sweets container (kashi-ki), but the details are unknown. The sweets container lid has two noticeable cracks and fissures. I will sell either one individually. I hope to find someone who will use them, rather than keeping them stored away.
