This is a traditional craft item I received as a souvenir in the 1990s, and it has been stored unused for a long time. It features vibrant colors using madder and indigo, which are symbolic of Indian calico, and a variety of traditional patterns such as plants, flowers, birds and animals, geometric patterns, and arabesque designs are depicted on a single piece of cloth. (Photo 1) The reverse side has a unique texture with the vibrant patterns of the front bleeding through.
