Cha-baori (茶羽織) Red and black stripes This is a type of haori (traditional Japanese jacket) worn with a kimono, but it's for indoor wear rather than going out. The length is short, around the hips, so it doesn't wrinkle even when sitting seiza-style (kneeling). There are no gussets under the arms. It's worn by tying the fabric ties sewn onto the collar, without using haori cords. The image is easy to understand if you think of the haori often provided at Japanese inns.
