This is a set of four exquisite small items of Matsushiro ware, a representative pottery of Shinshu (present-day Nagano Prefecture). The set includes an ashtray, a small bowl, a teacup, and a small jar. These are fine pieces provided by a prominent collector of Matsushiro ware in Nagano Prefecture, and are part of a very valuable collection. The ashtray, small bowl, and teacup are believed to be works of the Daikanchom-gama kiln, a representative kiln of Matsushiro ware. The small jar is believed to be a work of the Kojincho-gama kiln. The sizes are as follows: ashtray - diameter 7.5 cm, base diameter 7.3 cm, height 5.5 cm; small bowl - diameter 9 cm, base diameter 5.5 cm, height 5 cm; teacup - diameter 7.5 cm, base diameter 4.5 cm, height 6.3 cm; small jar - diameter 6.3 cm, base diameter 4 cm, height 6 cm. The teacup has a small crack, but the other three items are in good condition. They will be carefully packed and shipped.
