Thank you for viewing. This is a once-worn, mother-of-pearl (raden) obi (sash), made by Hirobe Shoji, with a six-panel design. The mother-of-pearl is only on the taiko (back) section, with three diamond-shaped raden inlays: two in iridescent colors and one in cream. The remaining four diamond shapes are packed with glitter. The pattern on the stomach when worn in the standard way is ⑦, and ⑧ when reversed. The base color is almost black, and the gold pattern has a prominent green hue. The reverse side is plain black. Although gold thread is used, due to the overall design, it may be closer to a stylish obi than a formal one (this is my personal opinion). It might be suitable for parties, New Year's gatherings, and year-end parties. It has a luxurious feel, so it would be perfect for komon (casual kimono) or omeshi (formal kimono). It sparkles more in person than in the images.
