Art dolls by Masako Matsumoto. This is a doll with a rare, simple material and design. The body is soft like an "otemama" (beanbag) and allows for free posing. I couldn't display it well, so it ended up lying down. It might be more stable if placed in a basket or similar. It's possible that it's a base doll meant to be dressed with kimono or other clothing. Details at the time of purchase are unknown. Unfortunately, the fingertips of the hands and feet are damaged. The hemp fabric of the body is also torn.
