The laces are the original leather laces. The insole had an insole cover used, so the logo is faded, but there doesn't seem to be any noticeable black stains. Leather: Uses leather from Horween (Chicago). Chromexcel leather is quite thick yet soft, and highly durable, making it suitable for work boots. Roughout leather (suede) is resistant to scratches, and has been used in hard work boots for a long time; shallow scratches will disappear and become less noticeable with polishing.
