Ordinary nickel silver plating is 3.8 microns, but this one has a 20-micron finish. The blade is made of stainless steel. There is little sign of use, and there are no major scratches. It can be used for scones, for jam and clotted cream, or for spreading butter and jam at breakfast. The design is based on the columns of a Greek temple, giving it a very substantial feel.
