Born into a family that farmed freshwater fish, mainly ayu (sweetfish), he graduated from the Faculty of Fisheries at Kitasato University in 1979. He worked in the aquaculture industry for eight years. From 1986, he independently learned wood carving and has been creating wooden fish carvings using domestic and international precious wood, taking advantage of the wood's natural texture. 【Main Works】 Created fish of the Tama River for the entrance hall of the Hino City Furusato Museum. Solo exhibition at the Kitami Co., Ltd. showroom. Exhibited at the Zako-ne-kan Fish Zo-ha Exhibition in Osaka. Created a wooden carving of "Katsuo" (bonito) for the wall and the reference room of the Nihonbashi Muromachi main store in Tokyo for the 300th anniversary of Ninben's founding. Created a wooden carving of a catfish for the Kyoto Aquarium VIP room. Held a special exhibition at the Kushimoto Underwater Park: Art Fish Prints and Fish Carving Exhibition. Jinda-sugi has a bluish-black or near-black gray color, and is characterized by its fine and beautiful grain.
